xifaxan 550 mg

Xifaxan is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Traveler’s Diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), Hepatic Encephalopathy, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). Xifaxan may be used alone or with other medications.

Xifaxan belongs to a class of drugs called Antibiotics, Other; Antidiarrheals.

It is not known if Xifaxan is safe and effective in children younger than 12 years of age.
